2014年7月16日在斯托克顿发生的银行抢劫案，3名持枪劫匪挟持3名女性为人质，驾驶
一辆SUV逃离，警匪追逐约100公里，最高时速达每小时190公里。在追逐过程中，32名
警员一共开了600多枪，车中人质米斯蒂·霍尔特·辛格身中10枪当场丧命。另外2名人
质或跳车或被摔出车外而保住性命。劫匪毫发无伤
2012年11月29日，蒂莫西·拉塞尔和梅丽莎·威廉斯驾车经过克利夫兰警察局门前时，
汽车因为发动机逆火发出爆鸣声，当时警察误以为是枪声，随即对这辆车展开追捕。在
这辆车停下来后，共有13名警察向车辆开枪，他们在不到10秒的时间里共向车内开了
137枪，导致车内两人中弹身亡。事后却发现，拉塞尔和威廉斯并没有携带任何武器。

2017年，佛罗里达州，一名28岁的当地女性准备用手枪自杀。警方出动特警组，破门闯
入她的公寓，为了防止她伤害自己，准备阻止她自杀。但是，当特警在公寓与她相遇后
，发现她手中持有手枪，于是二话不说，赶在女子自杀前成功将其击毙。
