Disable touchpad in Ubuntu

Install the software:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install touchpad-indicator

To show the indicator icon:
touchpad-indicator &

To change the touchpad state:
touchpad-indicator -c

In preferences, change the shortcut to "alt+c". Default is "ctrl+c", which is very annoying, since it's the same as copy.
