It depends on where you go.

In the UP, try the Pictured Rocks park near Munising Michigan.  It
is very nice.   See:  http://www.munising.org/

Also,  you can try the Tahquamenon area and Tahquamenon Falls State Park
near Paradise Michigan.

In the lower peninsula there are not many hills up north, but
any place you go will have good color.  You might want to go up
to Cheboygan Michigan and then follow the coast line south to
about Ludington Michigan.   Doing this you will pass by the Sleeping
Bear National Lakeshore and park.  See: http://www.sleepingbeardunes.com/

There are also lots of other pretty areas along that route.
