List of stuff you need to know inside and out (by no way this is the
complete list): System installation (Cobbler/PXE kickstart, software
building/Jenkins, packaging, kernel tuning), Performance tuning/
troubleshooting (IO, memory, File system, storage), Security (Authentication
/Kerberos/PAM, Iptables, GPG/public cryptography) Management tools (puppet,
chef, salt, CFeng), Linux networking, MySql database, Linux Virtualization (
KVM/Openstack), Monitoring system (Nagio/Ganglia/Graphtie), web development
(CGI, PHP), revision control system (CVS, Gitorious), Be proficient in at
least two of Shell/Perl/Python/Ruby scripting... KAO, this
list goes on and on.
