all companies can monitor individual employee traffic, if they wanted to.
But 9/10 times big companies don't just b/c that typically is not a priority
- b/c everyone check their personal stuff, every now and then.
the one time they do tend to monitor is if they already have something
against you. so for example, you are under performing and they are looking
to get every excuse to fire you - in those cases your web activity could
potentially come back to bite you.
moral of the story: you will be fine if you 1) do your job well, and 2) put
on your common-sense hat and surf/check personal email in moderation.
