As a member of cross-functional project teams, the Engineer – Software Test is responsible for creating test plans, test strategies, design and development of automated product software verification tests. Additional responsibilities include researching and recommending new test processes, strategies, technology, and tools planned for testing of future products.

Critical Tasks/Responsibilities
- Prepare designs, specifications, analysis and recommendations for development of new products.
- Maintain records pertinent to each project in the form of time, project key point statements, project and work tracking reports, design journals, sketches, drawings, etc
- Render technical advice and assistance to other product development personnel as to designs, specifications, information sources and testing procedures
- Oversee the operations involved in the development and testing of prototype products.
- Keep well informed on new developments in the research and design engineering fields through contacts with educational institutions, professional societies and organizations, and through the use of texts, technical papers, journals, and periodicals.
- Other duties as required.
Basic Minimum Skills Required

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Masters Degree with advanced course work in areas relevant to product development is preferred.
- Knowledge of software test engineering design and development and /or engineering research
- Knowledge of C\C++ programming is required.
- Knowledge of test case design.
- Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in English along with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Ability to understand and adhere to a defined software process and coach others in its application.
- Ability to identify tasks required to complete a software test project, estimate effort required for those tasks, and hold a committed schedule.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Windows Development Environments.
- Experience in the design and development of automated product software verification tests using National Instruments LabVIEW.
Preferred Skills
- Able to contribute as a member of an organized project team of engineers.
- Experience in the design and development of automated product software verification tests using National Instruments TestStand software.
- Experience working with electrical hardware in a test environment.
- Knowledge of formal software test engineering techniques.
- Experience with C\C++ programming.
- Basic knowledge ofCAN.
- Software Requirements Specification.
- Experience with Software Configuration Management Tools such as ClearCase, and Change Management Tools such as ClearQuest.
- Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink.
- Knowledgeable and well informed on new developments in research and engineering fields.
- Strong analytical and technical skills.
