1. 准备阶段
7月开始准备推荐信，找了不少模板；写信过程中，得到美国同事在语言上的大力帮忙
，所以写的过程还算轻松。然后联系推荐人，到月底的时候基本凑齐。此过程中，欧洲
人回信比较慢，甚至不回；日本人也不回信；可能是暑假的原因，他们都度假去了。
同期开始联系学校国际办公室，国际办公室可以办，但是要求苛刻（所有推荐信都要原
件），且速度据说比较慢——而钱只比外面律师便宜几百块。所以再三权衡后用了他们
指定的律师之一。
8月初和律师签了合同。然后整理材料（文章、引用、评审、推荐信），都打印成PDF。
全程都是Email或电话联系，真人长啥样我都不知道。另外，律师写的PL在递上去之前
，我一眼也没看到。结果在我拿到他们CC给我的COPY时吓一跳，稀松四页纸，基本就把
我给他们的材料列了个清单而已，甚至还把我家LD的名字打错了（包括I140表格上），
到现在我都觉得后怕，幸好没遇到杀手。（律师准备的PL，其实cover letter，见附件）
出生公证、体检是在I140提交上去之后的等待期间办理的。

8/31/12（星期五）移民局收到材料
9/6/12（星期四）收到Fax的RFE（需要offer letter/contract）
9/12/12（星期三）收到RFE纸质邮件
9/14/12（星期五）寄出RFE回复材料（FedEx Overnight Standard）
9/17/12（星期一）移民局收到RFE材料
9/27/12（星期四）收到Approved 短信通知
10/3/12（星期三）收到纸质Approval通知

10/4/12（星期四） FedEx overnight standard寄出材料
10/5/12 （星期五）delivered
10/11/12（星期四）收到email通知
Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center
for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your
official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number LIN13900XXXXX.
With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov
where you can check the status of your case using My Case Status. We suggest
you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case
Status.
This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your case
. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT
present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration
status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that
your case remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your case must
be verified with USCIS.

On December 10, 2012, your I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE
OR TO ADJUST STATUS was approved. You will be notified of the decision by
mail. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your
case, including when the approval notice is mailed. If you do not receive
the approval notice within 30 days, please call customer service at 1-800-
375-5283 for further assistance.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the
decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You
can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive
a final decision.
ii. Decision(NSC 1:15pm)
On December 10, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this
customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on
the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days
following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing
referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before
receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-
5283.
During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the
decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You
can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive
a final decision.
iii. Card/ Document Production(NSC 7:30pm)
On December 10, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow
30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we
will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer
service at 1-800-375-5283.

On December 12, 2012, we mailed the new card directly to the address we have
on file. You should receive your new card within 30 days. If you do not, or

v. Card/ Document Production(NSC 7:30pm)
The USPS reported that they picked up mail from USCIS containing your new
card on December 12, 2012. You should receive your new card within 7 days.

整个过程历时半年，其中最煎熬的是I140 RFE交上去后那11天等待。全程基本跟着我一
师兄的经验办的，所以有他在前打先锋，我的case办起来就轻松了很多，在此要特别感

从485交上去的那天开始我才上MITBBS攒切糕，截止今天，加上LD的，一共67块，散尽
