A temporary solution for unable to update system softwares

Recently I can't  update system softwares in the software update manager, although it reminds me to update every time I start the computer. I googled but seems no better solution so far than reinstalling the system, which I don't want to do at this moment.

Here is a temporary solution to it: following the list on the update manager, force install each package one by one...

sudo apt-get -f install

Anyone knows how to solve it?
