Play DVD on Ubuntu

 1 install libdvdread4

sudo apt-get install libdvdread4

For me it's already installed. It doesn't hurt if you try the command again, it will let you know if some software is already installed.

2  install softwares to play DVD

gksu /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

Now pull the DVD out and push it back in. The default video player should be able to play it now. One may also try smplayer. It can also play DVD now.
